Google guidelines for submitting webpages

More often than not people used automated softwares to submit their websites or blogs to Search Engines like Google.Even if we do submit our websites manually,we sometimes,do forget to read the guidelines which should be followed before submitting our websites to them.

Here are a list of few of the more important guidelines laid out by Google which should be checked before submitting to them.

  1. Make your website for people rather than search engines. It should be aimed at providing useful content to the users rather than aiming at the top search engine position for a keyword.
  2. "Cloaking" is prohibited by Google.Cloaking presents a different websites to the search engines which is targeted at improving the ranking of the websites and different websites to users.
  3. Participation of users in link exchange schemes which are designed to improve the page rank and the rankings are not encouraged.
  4. The last but the most important which most of the webmaster's ignore is :"Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google."
